Former Chief Strategist Bannon admits Trump is easily duped.

But making that argument — that Trump was duped — also means arguing that he is capable of being duped, and apparently rather easily in this case. Inherent in Bannon’s argument is the idea that Trump either isn’t discerning enough to make that endorsement decision for himself, or at least that he doesn’t do enough homework.

Bannon is basically confirming everything aides have said privately about how unsophisticated Trump is in consuming information. This is the president of the United States, and Bannon is talking about him as if he’s still a total political novice — a weather vane, even.

That’s a pretty stunning admission coming from one of the people who has worked closest with Trump.  More from The Washington Post here.

NFL Players, Owners show unity and empathy on Sunday game day, despite Trump’s “son-of-a-bitch” comments on Kaepernick.

NFL Players, Owners show unity and empathy on Sunday game day, despite Trump’s “son-of-a-bitch” comments on Kaepernick.

It’s all part of his new agenda: To put the sports world — which happens to be full of rich athletes, many of whom are minorities, who have huge followings and aren’t afraid to live as independent thinkers — in its supposed place. How dare ESPN’s Jemele Hill call Trump a “white supremacist,” even though he treated Ku Klux Klan members and neo-Nazis in Charlottesville with more fairness than Steph Curry? How dare Curry and the Golden State Warriors not jump at the chance to visit him at the White House? The invitation is withdrawn! And how dare these NFL court jesters have concerns about equality? Stand for the flag! And while we’re talking football, change the rules back and let them beat their brains out like they did during the good ol’ days!

What’s another player suffering from CTE and committing suicide mean to the current president? It’s as far down his list of priorities as the fears of the oppressed. It shouldn’t be shocking that Trump cares so little about NFL players. They’re just the latest on a long list of people he wishes would shut up and allow life to be shoved down their throat.  More from The Washington Post here.

Trump Organization allegedly lax in its due diligence with international partners.  Hangers-on seek personal profits!

Trump Organization allegedly lax in its due diligence with international partners. Hangers-on seek personal profits!

According to the sources I’ve spoken with, the Trump Organization was shockingly lax in its due-diligence procedures. It seemed willing to do business with pretty much anybody, no matter his background. (Several Trump officials told me the key criterion was insuring that the potential partner could pay.) This was how Trump ended up doing business with the Mammadov family, in Azerbaijan, for example, whose members were publicly suspected by U.S. officials of partnering with a likely front company for the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. A Trump project in Georgia was undertaken with a company that had become entangled in one of the greatest bank frauds in history. A Trump partner in Indonesia, Hary Tanoesoedibjo, has been investigated for corruption and for ties to violent and anti-American Islamists. The list could go on.   More from The New Yorker here.

NFL Roger Goodell says Trump’s “son-of-a-bitch” comment on Colin Kaepernick demonstrate an “unfortunate lack of respect” for the league and its players .”

National Football League Commissioner Roger Goodell said on Saturday that President Donald Trump had demonstrated a “unfortunate lack of respect” for the league and its players by suggesting that team owners should get rid of players who disrespect the flag.

“Divisive comments like these demonstrate an unfortunate lack of respect for our great game and all of our players, and a failure to understand the overwhelming force for good our clubs and players represent in our communities,”

Goodell said in a statement, which not did not explicitly mention the president.

The president was addressing the actions of NFL players who have protested during the national anthem, following the example of former San Francisco 49ers Quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who started the national anthem protests last season amid a wave of protests about police violence. “Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘get that son of a bitch off the field right now – he’s fired, Trump said at a rally in Alabama for Sen. Luther Strange.  More from Politico here.

Trump continues to threaten Hillary Clinton with jail at September Alabama rally!

Trump continues to threaten Hillary Clinton with jail at September Alabama rally!

It is completely insane on many levels for a president to suggest that he would jail his political opponents. Unlike Trump, there is no evidence that Hillary Clinton committed a crime. There is no reason for Clinton to be prosecuted for anything. All she did was win the popular vote over Donald Trump. The President has reached a dangerous level of crazy where he and his rabid cult are demanding the imprisonment of those who oppose them.

This is not democracy. This is not the United States of America.

Trump is off his rocker, and the people all political beliefs who love their country must come together to stop this mentally unstable threat to the nation.  More from Politics USA.
