President Trump brings his own cheering squad to CIA appearance to show support, misleading TV viewers from reality on the ground!
Also, Trump did bring cheering props, which fits with how he has operated previously in requiring a cheering section – a sort of laugh track of supportive extras like those his campaign hired for his announcement event. It has been confirmed by Trump insiders that the President loves props.
“Authorities are also pushing back against the perception that the CIA workforce was cheering for the president. They say the first three rows in front of the president were largely made up of supporters of Mr. Trump’s campaign,” CBS continued.
What is Trump trying to accomplish by bringing a cheering squad to a CIA appearance? For what purpose does this make America great? Reports from those on the ground indicate none of the CIA intelligence officers appeared to be clapping, yet this is what Trump would have you believe in light of his troubles with the so-called leak of a dossier from the Intelligence Report. Mitt Romney called Trump a phony, a fraud during the campaign, and with stunts such as this, it seems he’s not far off the mark. Please add your comments below.
President Trump continues to perpetuate lies he only lost popular vote due to widespread voter fraud in first congressional meeting.
In his first meeting with congressional leaders of both parties since taking office, President Donald Trump on Monday reiterated a debunked claim that he only lost the national popular vote because of widespread voter fraud.
Trump previously tweeted after winning the election:
“In addition to winning the Electoral College in a landslide, I won the popular vote if you deduct the millions of people who voted illegally.”
The President has provided no evidence to back up his claim, and multiple fact checks and investigations have called the assertion false. Trump is overly fixated on his loss of the popular vote, his crowd sizes, and seems more concerned about his popularity than getting down to business. How will his narcissism affect his ability to unite the country if he’s overly concerned with his own popularity?
Trump boasts another falsehood about his Time Magazine covers stating he’s been on it “15 times this year!”
Trump appeared at CIA and stated:
“I have been on their cover [of Time Magazine] like, 14 or 15 times. I think we have the all-time record in the history of Time Magazine. Like, if Tom Brady is on the cover, it’s one time, because he won the Super Bowl or something, right? [Laughter.] I’ve been on it for 15 times this year. I don’t think that’s a record, Mike [Pompeo], that can ever be broken. Do you agree with that? What do you think?”
TIME MAGAZINE told Politico’s Playbook Trump has actually been on the cover 11 times. He was on the cover this week, 8 times in 2016, once in 2015 and once in 1989. Richard Nixon was on the cover 55 times.
President Trump used his CIA appearance as an opportunity to boast about his magazine covers and inauguration crowd attendance. Both of the claims were blatantly false, provable by facts. Why the president continues to utter falsehoods confounds the American public.
National Security Director Michael Flynn under investigation!
U.S. Eyes Michael Flynn’s Links to Russia. Counterintelligence agents have investigated communications by President Trump’s national security adviser, including phone calls to Russian ambassador in late December.
U.S. counterintelligence agents have investigated communications that President Donald Trump’s national security adviser had with Russian officials, according to people familiar with the matter. Read more from the Wall Street Journal here.
General Flynn was previously forced into retirement by the Obama administration. Now Trump’s National Security Director is being investigated for communications with Russian officials during the campaign. Flynn has drawn criticism for his purported close relations with Russia and is a regular guest on RT (Russia Today). Is it any more obvious that General Flynn likes Russia?
White House counselor Kellyanne Conway admits President Trump will never release tax returns citing people don’t care.
Speaking on ABC News’ Sunday morning show This Week, White House counselor Kellyanne Conway finally admitted what had been plainly obvious to anyone paying attention — Donald Trump is never going to voluntarily release his tax returns despite a petition calling for their release. The American people will never know who he is in debt to, whose payroll he is on, or how he is personally benefitting from the policy decisions he makes as President of the United States.
“Trump and his family has complied with all ethical rules to step away from his businesses to be a full-time president.”
At the time of this posting, Trump has failed to relinquish control of his businesses as he had promised the public at his January press conference and throughout his campaign. The Trump lies just keep coming from his administration. Will they ever stop or just continue and are we expected to believe him?
“I’m always disappointed how public and sometimes political some of these figures can seem to be. I’m very concerned, very concerned. People should realize it is the Trump team, only us at this time, that is not divulging what occurred in a classified briefing.”
The Trump administration is attempting to control freedoms of the press and the information to which the American public is entitled to hear. Conway’s job is to advise the President, yet she appears to be crafting the President’s message, often obfuscating the issues rather than shining more light. What do you think?
CNN holds back on administration’s first live press briefing citing false information, and Trump blacklists CNN!
The Trump team’s refusal to appear on CNN came one day after it declined to air the live feed of Spicer’s first press conference after the inauguration, where Spicer blatantly lied about the size of inauguration crowds. According to Variety’s Brian Steinberg, “CNN’s refusal to take the live feed suggests executives there are reluctant to put false statements on air, and, what’s more, do not think the new White House press representative is entirely credible.” From the January 21 report:
“CNN’s decision to not air the press conference live illustrates a recognition that the role of the press must be different under Trump. When the White House holds press briefings to promote demonstrably false information and refuses to take questions, then press ‘access’ becomes meaningless at best and complicit at worst,” said Danna Young, an associate professor at the University of Delaware who studies politics and the media. “Democracy works best when journalists have access to the executive branch, of course. But that holds true if and only if that access leads to verifiable, accurate information. The decision on behalf of CNN to wait and verify before airing it live suggests that the media are adapting quickly to this new era.”
To be certain, news outlets routinely make decisions about whether to air press events live, usually based on projections about news value. But this press conference, held just a day after the President’s inauguration, would have been a hot prospect for a cable-news outlet, and could have sparked hours of debate and follow-up on CNN’s schedule. In an unusual and aggressive maneuver, CNN aired its regular weekday lineup this Saturday, underscoring heavy interest in breaking news of a series of massive protests by women across the nation in response to Trump’s presidency as well as the new President’s first few days in office. Trump has nearly called war on CNN and has stated he has a “running war with the media” while at his first official appearance at the CIA. How will this affect the media’s ability to cover him, and more importantly, how does this affect freedom of the press under the Constitution? Many people are calling for a boycott of the administration asking for the press to be united in their coverage. Please add your comments below.
